“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts…”
-William Shakespeare
I have not formally worked as an actor.
As an “omnivert”, I prefer to be alone most of the time or have little contact with others but am able to match my personality to the context and setting around me.
In fact, I discovered in my late 20s that I am actually a “mimic”; which means that I easily and subconsciously adopt the mannerisms, accent, and other characteristics of those who I am speaking with. For instance, after a couple days of traveling in Brasil, I am speaking English with a Brasilian Portuguese accent, though I do not speak a word of Brasilian Portuguese.
I have always wished for an opportunity to try acting. I study people. My entire career is focused around presenting and appearing in front of groups of people. My only fear has been memorizing lines… But I think I could be a compelling performer.
Maybe someone will read this and give me a shot.
